Forty hotel and tourism professionals met at the annual HTLroundtable germany, which was hosted by Michael Widmann and Andreas Martin from PKF hotelexperts Vienna. For the first time, the event took place at the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin, which is part of a mixed-used development situated in the very heart of the City-West of Berlin on a plot locally known as "Zoobogen". The Bikini complex consists of the 25hours hotel with 149 rooms, a concept retail mall, office space, bars, restaurants and the cinema "Zoo Palast".

Whether the 25hours marketing slogan "You know one, you know none!" is the secret of the success of the seventh hotel of the 25hours Hotel Company, which opened at the beginning of 2014, was not revealed by Michael Wünsch, opening General Manager of the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin. However, a total revenue of € 13 million in the first full year of operation, an average room occupancy above 85% and an average room rate of close to 120 €, for a hotel with an average standard room size of 20sqm, can definitely be called a success! In times with no modern international airport in operation and the closure of the congress centre ICC, Berlin might face a shift from less growing demand to possible oversupply in hotel rooms, in a market which was and is traditionally considered to be too cheap. However, it was reported that hotels with a clear focus like the 25hours or the deluxe property The Regent achieve a higher occupancy and average room rate than comparable hotels with no clear differentiation. The Regent is one the rate leaders in the difficult luxury hotel market in Berlin with a reported growth in both average occupancy and rate.

After four hours of lively discussion about the German hotel and tourism market, all participants met for a "Balagan" style dinner at the hotel's roof-top restaurant "Neni". To conclude: "We are all mad here!" - another 25hours marketing slogan.
